The Cleveland Browns and free agent wide receiver Dez Bryant ended their meeting without a deal, but the door is still open for them to work something out

Free agent wide receiver Dez Bryant took some time out to visit with the Cleveland Browns on Thursday, a visit that carried over to Friday morning.

Word out of Cleveland was the wide receiver enjoyed his time in the city and was impressed with the roster. He then appeared on ‘Browns Daily’ and let the fans know he would look good in the team’s colors.

After that, it was disclosed that Bryant was going to continue his talk with general manager John Dorsey at dinner in Cleveland. Hopes were high that a deal would happen, and Dez even had his agent present.

It doesn’t look like it’s going to be happening just yet though. Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com tweeted out that the free agent left without a deal being completed, but that talks will continue.

Bryant would have joined a crew that included pass catcher Jarvis Landry, Rashard Higgins, David Njoku, Duke Johnson and rookie Antonio Callaway — and maybe even Josh Gordon.

With Tyrod Taylor under center this season, there’s hope such a roster could have been very successful in Cleveland.

The big concern from the Browns perspective has to be Bryant’s potential fit in the locker room. He’s an emotional player who lets it be known when he’s unhappy.

Sideline outbursts occurred in Dallas with him and there has to be worry about how that would affect the culture this team is trying to build.

Surely this was all part of what was discussed as Dorsey needed to know Bryant was fine not being the No. 1 target, since Landry is still manning that role no matter who comes in the door.
