Player on offense I would like to see more from: Tyrod Taylor, Quarterback

He can’t have a perfect quarterback rating forever, can he? That’s not what I expect either, but I would like to see what Taylor looks like given some sustained time with the offense. Taylor only had two drives in the first game, and in the second drive, the Browns went up-tempo which actually seemed to suit Taylor well as he completed all three of his passes for 63 yards and a touchdown to David Njoku.

This is not meant to imply that there’s a quarterback competition. I’m firmly of the belief that Taylor should start the season. I’m just ready to see more of the offense with Taylor orchestrating things. He’ll probably play into the second quarter against a decent Bills defense.

Player on defense I would like to see more from: Jamie Collins

Linebacker has seemed like a forgotten position for the Browns. Yet I remember last year in the first quarter of the Lions game, Collins was all over the field before he got hurt and our defense looked stifling. I want to see Collins be the playmaking linebacker we paid to get. If not, I’m not so sure he can make the team. There are a lot of difficult decisions to be made as cut-down day arrives and he does carry a big number.
