The Daily Dawg Tags brings you all the Cleveland Browns news you need to know, including them being the talk of the NFL as they hosted Dez Bryant

All the news coming out of the NFL seemed to be focused around the Cleveland Browns on Thursday. That was because they finally hosted wide receiver Dez Bryant for a free agent visit.

Bryant arrived in Cleveland with camera crews from ‘Hard Knocks’ waiting for his arrival. He then made the rounds on social media when he signed a Browns helmet in the airport.

The star receiver then made an unexpected guest appearance on ‘Browns Daily,’ where he said he liked the city, much to the delight of the Cleveland faithful. Reports were the team and Bryant were meeting for dinner, but no contract has been announced.

Browns host Dez Bryant on visit, evaluating fit — Patrick Maks, ClevelandBrowns.com

"“During the visit, Bryant expressed kind words for Cleveland, adding he and the team’s front office are “just trying to work some things out” in a brief impromptu appearance on Browns Daily.”"

Bryant said he would visit and he did. He also proved how much clout he has as the NFL news cycle seemed to center all around him during Thursday, even though a signing never officially happened.

Todd Haley: NFL game ‘isn’t too big’ for Cleveland Browns rookie QB Baker Mayfield – Matthew Florjancic, WKYC.com

"“Speaking on the game, their first opportunity to get out there with real bullets flying, I thought it wasn’t too big for him,” Browns offensive coordinator Todd Haley said prior to Wednesday’s practice. “He was by no means perfect, but he kept his cool. He was never flustered. I think it’s clear to everybody he can really throw the football.”"

We all saw this with our own eyes as Mayfield was unfazed by the bright lights in his first NFL action. The Browns seem like they may have gotten this thing right.

Cleveland Browns: 3 Things to watch for in Preseason Week 2

It’s the second week of the 2018 NFL Preseason and the Browns are set to take on the Bills. They need to improve in a couple areas while staying consistent in others. These are the three biggest keys to watch for, headed by the running game needing to show some life.

Cleveland Browns: Where is the running game? — Backwoods, NFL Spin Zone

"“The fact of the matter is that, until the starters get significant reps, fans will not know what to expect the 2018 season to yield. A continued effort to establish the running game is welcomed and more carries certainly allow for sustained productivity. Too many times in 2017, it appeared as if Hue Jackson forgot his team had running backs altogether, something that new offfensive coordinator Todd Haley should remedy.”"

The most important thing to remember here is the starters have not been on the field much. While we all hoped for more from rookie Nich Chubb, he’s still behind Duke Johnson and Carlos Hyde. Cleveland also wasn’t 100 percent on the offensive line. This problem should fix itself in time.
