Cleveland Browns: 53 man roster prediction midway through the preseason
By Randy Gurzi
There won’t be many surprises, but the return of wide receiver Josh Gordon changes the Cleveland Browns 53 man roster prediction halfway through the preseason
With two preseason games in the books for the Cleveland Browns, we now have a much better idea of which players will be on the final 53-man roster. New general manager John Dorsey has gone out of his way to make this roster more competitive than it has been in the past and it appears he’s done a good job to this point.
The first preseason game was a great example of how much the team has improved. They came out and marched down the field on their second drive while holding their own on defense against the New York Giants.
In Week 2 against the Buffalo Bills, the defense again was strong against the first team, but depth became a bit of a question. Still, they seem much better than a season ago.
So now, with two games down — and wide receiver Josh Gordon back ‚— we take our best guess at how the final 53-man roster will look when the 2018 NFL Season kicks off.
Special Teams (3): Zane Gonzalez, Britton Colquitt, Charley Hughlett
Zane Gonzalez seems to have the kicking job locked down. He’s done nothing to make the team second-guess his role with them. The same can be said of punter Britton Colquitt. Charley Hughlett is a strong long snapper and his spot is secure as well for the Browns.
