Dud: Spencer Drango

Thursday night proved one thing about the Browns’ offense – the team needs right guard Kevin Zeitler to return sooner rather than later.

Spencer Drango has been Zeitler’s replacement as the starting right guard since Zeitler suffered an injury at the beginning of August. And in that time, Drango has not looked good at right guard.

Against the Eagles, he was consistently getting beat, leaving whoever was at quarterback in a lot of trouble if he did not quickly release the ball. It was one thing for Drango to get beat by the dominant Eagles starting defensive line. However, Drango’s struggles continued against the Eagles’ backups.

Drango filled in at left tackle last season after Joe Thomas suffered his season-ending triceps injury, and Drango struggled against edge rushers. Drango is better suited to be playing as an interior offensive linemen, but it did not seem like it on Thursday night.

Browns reportedly still very interested in Dez Bryant. dark. Next

Drango may keep his roster spot due to his versatility, despite him not being that good at either tackle or guard. He has a lot to prove against the Lions if he wants to keep his roster spot. But one thing is certain, and that is he needs to play much better than he did against the Eagles.
