Tight End Devon Cajuste

Devon Cajuste has gained notoriety from Browns fans because of his family story being featured on Hard Knocks. But Cajuste has also played well during the preseason, raising his chances of making the 53-man roster.

Cajuste has caught three passes for 53 yards this preseason. But has also done well blocking, never giving up on plays.

Cajuste has been limited to second-team action with David Njoku and Darren Fells getting significant playing time in front of him. But in the final preseason game, Cajuste will be getting a lot of snaps with Baker Mayfield as his quarterback. Having Mayfield under center for potentially the entire first half will give Cajuste a big chance to make plays.

The biggest reason why Cajuste has a decent chance at making the roster is because of Seth DeValve’s quad injury. DeValve has yet to play and has been unable to show what he can do in Todd Haley’s offense. With John Dorsey taking over as general manager, he may have wanted to see what DeValve can do before giving him a roster spot.

If Browns head coach Hue Jackson may prefer to keep the player that has regular season experience. But Cajuste has a big chance at making a lasting impact for that third tight end job on Thursday night.
