Cleveland Browns: 2018 Practice Squad tracker
By Randy Gurzi
The Cleveland Browns have been making moves to get their 53-man roster set for Week 1. But which players have landed with the team’s practice squad?
There really weren’t too many surprise cuts on Saturday as the Cleveland Browns moved down to 53 players on their roster. As we all knew, that first set of 53 was anything but final.
Cleveland owned the first spot in the waiver claims, meaning they had dibs on any players waived by other teams getting down to 53. Early on Sunday, we heard the names of which players Cleveland decided to pick up.
The new faces were former Baltimore Ravens defensive tackle Carl Davis, Ifeadi Odenigbo, a defensive end from Minnesota, former Arizona Cardinals defensive back Tavierre Thomas, former Bills linebacker Tanner Vallejo, and lastly former Los Angeles Rams center Aaron Neary.
Of their own cuts, cornerback Simeon Thomas joined the Seattle Seahawks and fellow corner Michael Jordan landed with the New York Giants. UPDATE: Offensive lineman Avery Gennesy was also reportedly signed to the Denver Broncos squad.
Still, plenty of the players cut by Cleveland could wind up making it back to the team via the practice squad. Of course, players not claimed that were cut by other NFL teams could also land with the Browns 10-man practice squad, so it’s anyone’s guess how it will all shake out.
We will do our best to keep you up to date as the news breaks. Refresh this page and check back often to see which players made it to the Cleveland Browns 2018 Practice Squad
