Former Cleveland Browns first-round pick Corey Coleman signed with the New England Patriots on Tuesday morning. This marks the third team in 2 months for the disappointing —up to now, at least — 15th overall pick in the 2016 draft.

2016 Cleveland Browns first-round pick Corey Coleman started out well, catching seven balls for 173 yards in his first two games. However, he ending up breaking his hand and was out for several weeks.

He was never able to make much of an impact following that injury. In 2017, everyone saw a flash of potential when Coleman caught his first touchdown from quarterback Deshone Kizer. However, in week 2, Coleman again broke his hand and was placed on injured reserve.

In the week 17 game, Coleman dropped a late touchdown pass that effectively sealed the fate of the 0-16 record for the Browns.

After seemingly not improving during the offseason and yet another disappointing training camp and early preseason, general manager John Dorsey traded Coleman to the Buffalo Bills for a seventh-round pick in the 2020 draft. A few short weeks later, he was cut in the last days leading up to the 53 man roster deadline and had been without work since.

That is until now. Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network broke the news that Coleman will get a shot with his third team this season. Coleman was signed by the New England Patriots on Tuesday after he had a workout with the team earlier.

Having only three wide receivers on the roster, and needing to fill a roster spot now that running back Jeremy Hill tore his ACL in week one, the Patriots signed Coleman to a deal to try and gain depth.

Next. Studs and duds from Week 1. dark

For a guy that’s been oft-injured, most are hoping he can make a recovery and find a home in this New England Patriots offense. If you can’t do well with Tom Brady throwing you the ball, then you’re pretty much without hope. Best of luck, Corey.
