Cleveland Browns: Pick’Em league off to a hot start
By Joel W. Cade
The Dawg Pound Daily crew set up a pick’em league for everyone to participate (even if you’re not a Cleveland Browns fan, but why wouldn’t you be)? If week one is any indication, it should be a close battle.
The Cleveland Browns didn’t win this weekend. They didn’t lose either. Their result is a lot like the Dawg Pound Daily Pick’em league. The majority of the players ended up in the middle of the pack. Week 1 was a very close battle.
The winner of week one was Tyler Hise who correctly picked 10 of last weekend’s games. Hise was one of only three players to pick the Philadelphia Eagles for a Thursday night win — apparently, no one had much faith in Nick Foles after his struggles in the preseason.
But he was not the only one to channel his inner guru to pick games. Shout out goes to Mitch Zoloty and Michael Marko for correctly picking the New York Jets over the Detroit Lions. The rest of the crew had the Lions winning. So much for following the crowd.
There were two duds of the week. Bryan Funk picked the Buffalo Bills over the Baltimore Ravens. Not to be outdone John Hartley had the Oakland Raiders defeating the Los Angeles Rams.
Both went solo on the picks. They could have been geniuses who outsmarted the rest of us. But this time, not so much.
