Browns Bottle Up Kamara

In 2017, Alvin Kamara became nearly untackleable. In addition to his tremendous rushing ability, Kamara’s Offensive Rookie of the Year win came in large part thanks to his 81 receptions for 826 yards. The Browns need to be able to bottle up Kamara. While this is easier said than done, the Browns’ young defense just might have a solution for the Kamara equation.

Despite being freakishly athletic and a huge problem in the backfield, no player is invincible. If the Browns can bottle up Kamara, or at the very least reduce his effectiveness, they’ll have a better chance of stopping Drew Brees and the Saints’ offense as a whole.

In the twilight of his career, Brees has thrived off of tremendous offensive weapons such as Kamara, Mark Ingram, and Michael Thomas. Taking away his Swiss army knife away might keep New Orleans’s explosiveness at bay.

Kamara is good enough to the point that defenses don’t really stop him, they just hope to contain him. After a stellar rookie performance, he’s definitely looking to keep it up with New Orleans, but the Browns need to game-plan for him. And if they don’t? Well, then maybe head coach Hue Jackson really is just a dope after all.
