Cleveland Browns News: Team doesn’t know how to win
By Randy Gurzi
The Daily Dawg Tags bring you all the Cleveland Browns news you need to know. Today’s stories look at their struggle to learn how to win a game.
Again we sit and wait for the victory fridge to open. The Cleveland Browns are still looking for that elusive first win since December of 2016.
What hurts most about this latest loss is they had the New Orleans Saints on the ropes. They had a win in their sights and they just blew it.
There was a late — and ugly — pick from Tyrod Taylor that ended up putting them behind. Then he threw a beauty of a touchdown pass on fourth down to rookie Antonio Callaway. That should have given them the lead, except kicker Zane Gonzalez missed his second extra point of the day.

Then after falling behind by three, the Browns moved into range for the tie and again Gonzalez missed, capping off the worst game of his career. They don’t know how to win, and that’s what we read in today’s Dawg Tags.
Cleveland Browns News
"The Browns have been a part of two of the most dramatic finishes to start the NFL season with each game coming down to the final play. The new-look roster just doesn’t have anything to show for it in the win column."
They keep saying the Browns have lost so much that they have to learn how to win games. With two shots at it — in winnable games — they’ve come up just short which gives credence to this belief.
Cleveland Browns find yet another painful way to avoid winning — Steve Gardner, USA TODAY
"The free beer remains untouched, but the Cleveland Browns have to feel they’ve come so close to that elusive first win they can taste it.The good: After going 0-16 last year, Cleveland has played a pair of playoff teams extremely tough in their first two games of this season. The bad: Everything else, with the most recent heartbreak coming in a 21-18 loss that gave the Browns a 0-1-1 record."
At some point, this team needs to take a long, hard look at their leadership. Something is broken for them to drop such heartbreaking games and it’s not getting better.
Cleveland Browns: Time to call Dan Bailey
After two missed field goals and two missed extra points, the Browns may need to call free agent kicker Dan Bailey and see what he’s up to these days.
Week 2 reflection: Is Tyrod the chicken or the egg?
Is Tyrod Taylor holding the offense back? Or is the offense holding him back? It’s a fair question Chris Markoch asks after Taylor played lackluster all day on Sunday only to throw a dime at the end when it was needed most. Should he be unleashed more?
