The members of the Dawg Pound Daily crew weigh in on Baker Mayfield’s first start with the Cleveland Browns and predict the outcome against the Raiders

This week as we look ahead to the Cleveland Browns next game, things just feel different. Sure, they lost 17 games in a row before getting a tie, losing again, and then finally getting that elusive win. But it was the way the Browns won that have fans feeling good again.

Not only the way they won but really even the way they tied and lost the first two. I know we all hate moral victories, but how many had the Browns at 0-3, or maybe 1-2 at best after three weeks?

They did start the season against the Pittsburgh Steelers and then the New Orleans Saints. Both of those teams were in the playoffs last season and both were favorites to head back to the postseason this year.

And while Cleveland went 0-1-1 against those two, it came down to the last second. The defense held their own and the offense almost did enough. Now, that offense feels much better after seeing them come alive in the second half of their Thursday Night Football game in Week 3.

Of course, the catalyst for that was rookie quarterback Baker Mayfield who came in and lit a blazing fire under everyone on offense. Receivers were getting open and he was decisive in his reads and firing the ball. That forced the safeties to back up, which helped the running game improve dramatically.

That’s why this week feels different as the Browns are set to play the Oakland Raiders in Baker Mayfield’s first career start. There’s reason to believe, but do our writer’s believe they will win? Check out the following predictions to find out.
