The Cleveland Browns won their second game of the season this past Sunday. But the pick’em league has plenty of losers.

The Cleveland Browns have won another game. If they win this week, that will be two in a row.

If they win one after that, that is called a winning streak. It has happened before.

So let’s see some hustle! Let’s jack it up a little! I have a feeling things are about to turn around for us.

Speaking of winning streaks, the Pick’em league was back in full force last Sunday. There was a full array of head scratching picks and pick’em savants that seem to know more than the rest of us. Who made good picks? Who were the boneheads of the week? Find out in our weekly Pick’em trash talk session.

Overall Standings

There is now a four way tie for first place in the overall standings. Kathryn Cade, Tyler Hise, Mitch Zoloty and Michael Markoch all have correctly picked 45 games this season. This is pretty good given the strange season that has been the NFL so far.

Two of the four are Dawg Pound Daily Writers. The other two are children of DPD writers. As highlighted last week, this remains a family feud.

Week Standings

The big winners this week are DPD writer Tyler Hise and Jim Simmons. Special shout out to Jim. He missed the first week but is quickly crawling up the leader boards. Tyler and Jim both correctly picked 11 games this week. That is a big number for any week. But for this week, that is a rare achievement.

Newcomers of the week got to Todd Canady and Stewart Harger. This was their first week picking games in the league. They both came in with 10 for the week. Great job guys! Glad to have you on board.

Studs and Duds

Now for the real fun. Studs of the week goes to Jeremy Marks who was the only person to pick the Buffalo Bills over the Tennessee Titans. I cannot decide if this was a good pick or dumb luck.

More from Browns News

But sometimes luck is better than skill. Kudos to Tyler Hise and Kathryn Cade who picked the New York Jets to defeat the Denver Broncos. Not sure how they saw that coming. There were a couple good picks by the entire league for correctly picking both Los Angeles teams to win. But with the Los Angeles Rams super team, it is hard to pick against them any week.

Special Dud goes out to Joel Cade. Yours truly picked the Cleveland Browns to win the weekly writers preview piece then turned around and picked the Baltimore Ravens in the pick’em league. That guy is a pure idiot. That may even be grounds for taking away his fan card. To be fair, most of the writers picked the Ravens to win that game. But with quarterback Baker Mayfield, the Browns can win any game moving forward.

Dud of the week goes Matthew McFatridge for taking the Indianapolis Colts over the New England Patriots. In a game that had no T.Y Hilton, he took the Colts anyway. Not sure what is going through this guy’s head. Special mention goes to Jason Furrie and Logan Kreinbrink for taking the Washington Redskins over the New Orleans Saints. Not sure on what planet that is a good pick.

Get picks in

Get your picks in. Late games start early around here. This Thursday’s match up is the Philadelphia Eagles at the New York Giants. With the way these teams are playing, this game could be a toss-up.

Fair warning. If you have not made your picks for four consecutive weeks, you may be facing the chop block. We are trying to keep the league active. Make the picks or face the consequences.
