In the absence of both Rashard Higgins and Derrick Willies, the Cleveland Browns are signing former Ravens first-round pick, Breshad Perriman. Can Perriman remedy the Browns’ receiver injury woes?

The football gods have been rather kind to the Cleveland Browns this season. General manager John Dorsey seems to have hit on the draft, the Browns sit at a 2-2-1 record, and at most positions, the injury bug has stayed away. That is, except for wide receiver.

The Browns came into the season with a promising receiving corps, including Jarvis Landry, Josh Gordon, and Corey Coleman. After dealing away the latter two, Rashard Higgins and Derrick Willies (who?) stepped up in a huge way with rookie Baker Mayfield at quarterback.

Sadly, both Higgins and Willies are now injured. Both are expected to be out for multiple games, leaving the Browns with four healthy wide receivers.

This young Browns team is hurting at receiver, and they made a move to fix the position on Saturday.

Saturday morning, the Browns signed former Baltimore Ravens first-round pick, Breshad Perriman.

Coming out of UCF, Perriman was the favorite target of Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles in college. The former Knight racked up over 1,000 receiving yards in his final college season, and was the first-round pick of the Baltimore Ravens in 2015.

Perriman struggled in Baltimore, and was cut earlier this year after only catching 43 balls for 576 yards and three touchdowns. in his professional career. Now, he will have something to prove in the brown and orange, under the tutelage of Hue Jackson and Todd Haley.

This may not be the most glamorous signing, but if the 6-foot-3 speedster can turn his career around with the Browns, the Dawg Pound will be forever grateful.
