The Cleveland Browns are coming off their worst game of the season and are thin at wide receiver. However, the Buccaneers secondary could help them bounce back.

We’ve all heard how thin the Cleveland Browns have gotten at wide receiver. It was so bad this past Sunday, that they were down to just three healthy options. Going forward, they hope to have better luck in that department.

They also hope for some improvement because the players who have been healthy have been dropping the ball — literally. The Browns wideouts haven’t been making enough plays, and it seems as though they all have developed a case of the drops in recent weeks, with Week 6 against the Los Angeles Chargers being their worst performance of the year.

If they want any hope of salvaging this season, the Browns need this unit to get their act together. Thankfully, this coming Sunday offers their best chance of doing just that.

Cleveland will hit the road to face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who have been beyond generous to opposing wide receivers so far in 2018. Entering Week 7, the Bucs are statistically the worst defense in terms of passing yardage in the league.

According to NFL.com, they’re No. 32 with 355.8 yards per game given up through the air. They’re also last in points allowed, giving up 34.6 per contest. While they did just give up 347 yards to the Atlanta Falcons (off a bye week nonetheless), their worst game was still Week 4.

In that one, the Bucs allowed Mitch Trubisky to break out as a star. He put up 354 yards passing with six touchdowns and no interceptions. For some perspective, the Bears are just 22nd in the NFL with 236.2 yards per game through the air according to NFL.com.

That means there’s a good chance the Browns can catch fire this weekend, even with the injuries to players like Rashard Higgins.

Next. Don’t blame the refs, blame the Browns. dark

They simply need to find their confidence once again, and this is the perfect team for them to build themselves back up against.
