Cleveland Browns: Terrelle Pryor reunion makes sense
By Randy Gurzi
Despite dealing with an injury of his own, the Cleveland Browns making a call to wide receiver Terrelle Pryor would make a lot of sense.
Even before players like Ricardo Louis, Rashard Higgins, and Derrick Willies suffered injuries, the Cleveland Browns had a need at wide receiver. They’ve been tied to some big-name players like Dez Bryant and even recently signed former Baltimore Ravens first-round pick Breshad Perriman.
However, there was another name they were tied to in the offseason that just didn’t work out. That would be former Cleveland receiver Terrelle Pryor. He was linked to the Browns, Seattle Seahawks, and New York Jets this offseason and ultimately landed in New York.
Now, Pryor is available once again. The Jets are releasing the former Ohio State quarterback, who turned receiver after trying his hand under center for the Oakland Raiders.

Also dealing with injuries at the position, the Jets are making this move to help now, with the hope of re-signing Pryor later.
In the same ESPN report where Pryor’s release is mentioned, it’s said that other teams may be interested despite the injury. One team should be the Browns.
Pryor was with Cleveland in 2015 and 2016, breaking out for them in his second season with the club.
That year, Pryor had 77 receptions for 1,007 yards and four touchdowns.
Since then, he’s played for the Washington Redskins and the Jets — but has struggled with health and inconsistent play. Even so, he could be a big help to a Browns’ team that needs a big target outside.
He’s also got plenty of familiarity with head coach Hue Jackson. The two were together in Oakland in 2011, the Cincinnati Bengals in 2015, and the Browns in 2016. A reunion could be good for the receiver who did very well with Jackson their last season together.
So far in 2018, Pryor has 14 receptions for 235 yards with two touchdowns. He’s better than the options the team has now outside of Jarvis Landry and could take some of the pressure off him once he returns to the field.
