The Dawg Pound Daily crew gives their predictions for what they think will happen in Week 7 as the Cleveland Browns face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers

At 2-3-1, the Cleveland Browns are much better than they were a season ago. Heck, they’ve won more games this season than they did in all of 2016 and 2017 combined.

While that’s a feat in itself, the good thing is no one is satisfied with this. The reason this is good is that it means they finally believe this roster is able to compete on any given Sunday.

Last week, however, the Browns didn’t look like competitors. They struggled in all facets of the game as injuries have really tested their depth. That will continue in Week 7 as they face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with many key players out — and with Carlos Hyde now gone as he was shipped off to Jacksonville on Friday.

With our eyes fixed on that game, several members of the DPD crew give their thoughts on how the coming game vs. the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will shake out.

The Browns were humiliated in all facets of the game last Sunday; offense, defense and officiating. This week, I expect a bounce-back game from Mayfield and company.

Mayfield is averaging 269 yards per game so far this season and Tampa Bay has the 31st ranked pass defense in the NFL. Despite a solid pass rush, the Browns should be able to throw against this shaky secondary. Callaway, Landry, Njoku, and Ratley shouldn’t have much trouble getting open.

The Browns have given up 10 sacks in the last two games and that’s a big concern, especially going up against players like Gerald McCoy and Lavonte David. Expect Nick Chubb and the running game to be big here to take pressure off the passing game as it did against Oakland.

Once again, close game but the Browns pull this one out and get back to .500 for the season.

Final score: Cleveland 27, Tampa Bay 21
