Dud: Desmond Harrison

Desmond Harrison has had an up-and-down start to his NFL career. At the beginning of the season, it looked like the Browns had found the replacement for Joe Thomas, as Harrison was making it hard for pass rushers to get to the quarterback.

But that was not the case on Sunday, as Harrison was dominated for almost the entire game. It was one of the biggest tests that Harrison has faced this season, as he was lined up against Jason Pierre-Paul for almost the entire game.

Pierre-Paul made three tackles on the day, including a quarterback hit. But the stats don’t show how often Piere-Paul was getting into the backfield, forcing Baker Mayfield to run or blowing up a Browns run play.

Harrison also gave up a key sack late in the game to Carl Nassib, as the play pushed the Browns out of field goal range.

The Browns offense has struggled the past couple of weeks, and a big reason for that is the offensive line not protecting Mayfield.

Harrison has the potential to be a good left tackle, but Sunday showed that he has a lot of growing left to do. For the most part, Harrison is going to be facing dominant pass rushers every game. He cannot let guys like Pierre-Paul have games that can single-handedly destroy the Browns offense. On Sunday, Harrison being unable to prevent pressure certainly created problems for the Browns offense.
