1. Lincoln Riley, Head Coach, Oklahoma Sooners

Last, but not least, we have Lincoln Riley. The buzz is already starting about him taking the job with the Browns, and really it started even before Hue Jackson officially lost his job. As soon as Cleveland drafted Baker Mayfield, people were wanting to reunite him with the man who coached him at Oklahoma.

The idea was, this would get Mayfield back into an offense that he knows, and that he absolutely excels in. Not only would Mayfield benefit, but the rest of the team would as well. That’s because Riley is a charismatic leader that understands how to scheme a winning game plan. Riley also proved that his victories aren’t just about the players he has as the Sooners have been just as dangerous this season with Kyler Murray as they were with Baker Mayfield.

Riley was also already asked about his interest in leaving Oklahoma and he gave the standard coach response, which was all about how much he loves Oklahoma.

The young coach is surely the No. 1 target, but there is truth to his statement. He seems to genuinely love coaching where he is and it won’t be easy to convince him to walk away from the job he has.

Of course, you could also read into the fact that Riley didn’t outright say no, so there’s still a chance.
