Round 3 Pick 1: Jaylon Ferguson, Defensive End, Louisiana State

In this mock, Jaylon Ferguson out of Louisiana State is still available in the third round. Should that be the case, the Browns need to jump all over it. While they already have solid edge players in Myles Garrett and Emmanuel Ogbah, Cleveland needs depth. Ferguson adds that and more.

This is a potential NFL starter down the road who doesn’t get the recognition he deserves since he plays in the Conference USA. After eight games this season, Ferguson already has 10.5 sacks this season and 38 total for his four-year career.

Round 3 Pick 2 (via New England Patriots): Dre’Mont Jones, Defensive Tackle, Ohio State

The Browns traded away Danny Shelton to the New England Patriots and in exchange, they got this extra third round selection. They already added some defensive line help with their own third-round pick by taking Jaylon Ferguson and now they go for some interior help.

Their selection is Ohio State’s Dre’Mont Jones. Listed at 6-foot-3 and 286-pounds, Jones is a load in the middle. He’s having his best season for the Buckeyes as well, recording a career-high 5.5 sacks in their first eight games.

Cleveland has had depth issues on their defensive line and these selections can go a long way toward fixing some of those concerns.
