Cleveland Browns: Rashard Higgins back at practice, brings much needed help
By Randy Gurzi
The Cleveland Browns have been hurting at wide receiver, but they could be getting some much-needed help as Rashard Higgins was spotted at practice Thursday
Some good news is finally coming for the Cleveland Browns offense. After hurting his knee in the win against the Baltimore Ravens, wide receiver Rashard Higgins has missed the past three games.
That could be coming to an end soon.
Higgins, who had been playing well leading up to his injury, returned to practice Thursday according to the team’s official Twitter account.
This would be an incredibly welcome return. Without Higgins, the offense has struggled to move the ball with much consistency and drops have plagued the wide receiver corps.

Before his injury, Higgins was becoming a reliable playmaker. He had four receptions for 61 yards in the loss to Oakland in Week 4.
He followed that up with 66 yards and a touchdown in Week 5 as the Browns upset the Ravens. After he went down in that game, the offense hasn’t looked the same. Most affected by the loss of Higgins has been Jarvis Landry. His fellow receiver has seen his yards-per-catch dip with the loss of Higgins and had a season-low 4.9 yards per grab on Sunday against Pittsburgh.
Higgins may not be elite, but defenses have to respect him as he’s got sure hands and has been running great routes. He also has a fantastic rapport with rookie quarterback Baker Mayfield.
Cleveland stayed the course and didn’t make a move at the deadline for a receiver, but help could still be on the way. There’s no word if Higgins will play this weekend, but his presence on the practice field is a step in the right direction.
