Cleveland Browns: Should Greg Little be in the crosshairs?
By Randy Gurzi
Maurice Moton of Bleacher Report picks one player each team should focus on in the 2019 NFL Draft and says it’s Ole Miss offensive tackle Greg Little for the Cleveland Browns
It’s only halfway through the season, so it may be a little premature for the Cleveland Browns to look ahead to the 2019 NFL Draft. Or is it?
We already have a sense of where this team needs to improve. While there are a couple of major holes, there really seems to be one glaring need that pretty much everyone can agree on — the offensive tackle spot.
Maurice Moton of Bleacher Report definitely agrees with that opinion as he has the Browns targeting a big tackle. In his recent piece looking at one draft target for all 32 teams, Moton has Greg Little out of Ole Miss as the main player the Browns should be targeting.

"“The last time the Browns spent a draft pick on a player named Greg Little, it didn’t pan out. But superstitions aside, this roster needs another Greg Little—the 6’6″, 325-pound left tackle from Mississippi.Little has lined up at left tackle since his freshman year, which included five starts. The Browns should feel comfortable with his experience going up against tough SEC defenses and his ability to handle power edge-rushers.” — Moton, Bleacher Report"
The Browns lost Joe Thomas after 2017 and they’ve had a hard time replacing the future Hall of Fame left tackle. Thomas saw his iron-man streak of 10,363 consecutive snaps end last season when he tore his triceps. He later retired and the team has failed to find an adequate replacement.
Desmond Harrison has done all he can, but as an undrafted rookie, there was no chance he could step in seamlessly. While he could still develop into a player worth keeping, the fact is Cleveland needs better protection for Baker Mayfield — which makes Moton’s assertions seem logical.
Scouts are mixed on Little. He has the talent to be special, but there are still holes in his game as he relies on his physicality more than technique at times.
Even so, he would be an upgrade over their current starters. The Browns should definitely be keeping an eye on Little, as well as every other offensive tackle prospect in the 2019 NFL Draft.
