The new staff for the Cleveland Browns has pulled the plug on the Desmond Harrison experiment as they list Greg Robinson as the starter at left guard Sunday

Sunday will be the first game for the Cleveland Browns since firing head coach Hue Jackson and offensive coordinator Todd Haley. With Gregg Williams serving as interim coach and Freddie Kitchens as offensive coordinator, the mood has been high for the Browns.

Fans hope to see that transfer into some better play on the field, which the staff is aiming for as well. Rather than just wishing for it though, they seem to be willing to make some tweaks to areas that the old regime seemed stubborn in.

One huge area is the left tackle position. On Sunday, there will be a new blindside protector as the team announced Desmond Harrison will be on the bench as Greg Robinson takes his place at left tackle.

Harrison is an undrafted free agent out of West Georgia. While he has the athleticism and power to play the position, he missed most of training camp with injuries and still somehow was named the starter late in the week as they prepared for a Week 1 contest with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

While he struggled, Jackson and Haley showed no signs of wanting to make a change. Williams and Kitchens showed no hesitation as they seem determined to protect quarterback Baker Mayfield.

Robinson was a former No. 2 overall pick out of Auburn. He hasn’t lived up to his lofty draft status, but has much more experience than Harrison.

dark. Next. What are the new coaches plan for Baker Mayfield?

Another roster move was seeing Damarious Randall listed as a healthy scratch. This one may not be a huge deal as Randall may be healthy now, but missed practice all week with injuries.
