Although former Arizona Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians is retired, he has more than hinted that he would consider coming back to coach the Cleveland Browns

The Cleveland Browns will soon be looking for a new head coach as Gregg Williams is operating on an interim basis. That opening is a hot commodity and apparently, some big names are willing to throw their hat in the ring.

One name that has surfaced is former Arizona Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians. During the team’s last game against Kansas City, Arians made several remarks about the team that seemed intriguing. Apparently, off the air, he said even more.

Scott Doerschuk of the Canton Republic says that Arians was asked point blank about his interest in the job and in the booth he said that this was the only one he would consider.

Doerschuk went on to discuss the history of the franchise and the fact that Arians wanted the job in 2013 but landed with the Cardinals. That didn’t work out for the Browns as Rob Chudzinski was their hire.

Chudzinski went 4-12 in his lone season whereas Arians was 49-30-1. He also won at least 10 games in each of his first three seasons with the team.

Arians is known as an offensive mastermind who gets the most out of his players. He excelled in Indianapolis in 2012 when thrust into the job as Chuck Pagano fought cancer. Arians was named Coach of the Year that season despite being in control only on an interim basis. He won the title again in 2014, his second season with the Cardinals.

He also has ties to the Browns as he was the offensive coordinator from 2001-2003, being a part of their last playoff experience in the 2002 season. Arians also has seen the way this fan base can be when the Browns have a winner.

He wants to be a part of that, and the Browns should, at the very least, kick the tires and see how real the interest is. Arians is a proven winner who can get quarterbacks to rise to the next level.

Does this sound like someone who they should be interested in?
