For a third time this season, Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Baker Mayfield has been voted NFL Rookie of the Week. The rookie passed for nearly 300 yards and two touchdowns in week nine against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Third verse, same as the second, same as the first. The Cleveland Browns have been racking up NFL Rookie of the Week awards this season, and Week 9’s performance from quarterback Baker Mayfield just added another to the list.

This is the third award for Baker thus far this season, with eight more games this season.

Thats without mentioning, he didn’t even see the field in Weeks 1 and 2.

Three rookies have won NFL Rookie of the Week for Cleveland so far in 2018. Cornerback Denzel Ward, running back Nick Chubb, and of course quarterback Baker Mayfield have shown themselves to be great foundation pieces going forward.

The future of the Cleveland Browns is, for the first time in what seems like forever, genuinely bright.

To say that the Cleveland Browns nailed their draft class in general manager John Dorsey’s first year would be an understatement. Mayfield, along with Chubb, Ward, and edge rusher Genard Avery (the fifth-round pick from Memphis) has been a definite hit as a draft pick.

Next. Britton Colquitt commercial is everything. dark

It seems that Cleveland finally has the legitimate option at quarterback that they have longed for for two decades. If Mayfield keeps up his pace, there’s a very good chance he could one day lead the Cleveland Browns to the promised land after years and years of wondering the desert.
