Throughout the course of an up and down season, the Cleveland Browns have had some hits and misses on the roster. These are the Browns’ three biggest pleasant surprises of the 2018 season.

It’s fair to say that in his first year as general manager, John Dorsey has injected some life into the oh, so hapless Cleveland Browns. Dorsey, along with Eliot Wolf and Alonzo Highsmith, have packed high amounts of optimism into Berea, Ohio in the span of eight months.

Perhaps the biggest impact that Cleveland’s brain trust has had is the turnover of the roster. Dorsey, Wolf, and Highsmith have flipped well over half of the Browns’ roster from the final game of 2017. Between major acquisitions throughout the offseason, and a 2018 draft class that looks great, the Browns are a totally different team from just last year. Cleveland had the most cap space and draft picks this past offseason, and it showed throughout the offseason.

But, with so much roster shuffling, there are bound to be hits and misses all over the board. Some players will be great signings and come out of nowhere to have a great season and prove themselves. Others will inevitably sit on their new money and find a way to disappoint fans. Thankfully, it looks like John Dorsey signed and drafted many more hits than misses this season.

John Dorsey has been on the job as Browns general manager for nearly a year now, and the Browns are better for it. But today is all about the underdog, the ones who nobody saw coming. These are the top three pleasant surprises of the 2018 Cleveland Browns season.
