A lot of eyebrows were raised when former Cleveland Browns head coach Hue Jackson was given a title from ‘The Office,’ and not even he seems to know his job

The internet has had some fun with the news that former Cleveland Browns coach Hue Jackson has a new job with the Cincinnati Bengals — and a title that sounds like it came straight from ‘The Office.’

In case you missed it, Jackson is now the special assistant to the head coach in Cincy, which just so happens to be a good friend of his in Marvin Lewis.

This is the third stint Jackson will have with the Bengals, but there’s more confusion around his new job than any other time.

And now, it seems like even Jackson doesn’t quite know what he will be doing. But at least he’s willing to do whatever it takes to get his new (old) team some wins.

"“In my own words: Whatever this organization needs me to do,” Jackson said via Fletcher Page of the Cincinnati Enquirer. “Whatever Marvin thinks I need to do to help him, to help him be the best version of himself. To help whether it’s offensively, defensively or special teams, I’ll do whatever they need me to do.”"

That’s a pretty broad range there, but then again, Jackson is a former head coach so maybe Lewis wants to use him all over the place.

Lewis did just take over duties calling defensive plays after firing the defensive coordinator Teryl Austin, so he can lean on Jackson there. That would make sense with the special assistant title.

Then again, Cleveland safety Damarious Randall might have figure it out with his tweet that says Jackson is there simply to help beat the Browns who are on their schedule twice this season still.

Whatever his role is, many Browns fans are happy to see Hue gone. And many Cincinnati fans are happy to see him back.

dark. Next. The moves in 2018 that haven’t worked

Jackson had success as an assistant with the Bengals, but flamed out in Cleveland when he was put in charge. Maybe he will find success again as a special assistant. Well, once he figures out his job and all.
