The Cleveland Browns have made some huge strides in 2018, but there is still work to be done. Here are the areas of focus for them before the 2019 season.

There are only six games left in the season, and what a season it’s been. The Cleveland Browns 3-6-1 and a long-shot for the playoffs, but Browns fans are partying like it’s 1999 (the year the team returned).

Despite the record, the team and its fans are actually justified for the good feelings. They’ve won more games this season than in the previous two combined, their head coach is gone, they’ve got an elite defense, playmakers on offense and for the first time, since Kurt Cobain was still alive, they’ve got a quarterback!

Baker Mayfield was a controversial number one overall pick. It seemed that either Sam Darnold or Josh Allen we’re destined to be the man in Cleveland. However, John Dorsey looked past the undersized player (6’1 215 lbs) and went with his gut. A move which has not only resulted in some great offensive success but has given the team a swagger that Mayfield brings with him all the way back from college.

2018 is a building year and this team is definitely the most talented one from top to bottom in years. There won’t need to be near as much construction this year as in years past.

However, while there’s much to celebrate and to look forward to, the team still has holes. Some of these, if not filled properly could ruin a very talented team.

The good news? Quarterback isn’t one of them (it’s still a very weird concept to grasp).
