Head Coach

Hue Jackson really lowered the bar for a Browns coach. Which I thought was impossible to do. You would think one win in two seasons would be cause enough to fire someone but he was able to get half of this season off before finally Browning out.

Now, the Browns are looking for a new head coach, and there are already several candidates being rumored. Names like Lincoln Riley, Bruce Arians, Josh McDaniels, and Matt Campbell have been thrown around.

More from Dawg Pound Daily

Matt Campbell and Lincoln Riley are both college coaches but have shown to push their teams to the next level. Riley is an offensive juggernaut that Browns fans would love to see reunited with Baker, and Matt Campbell has made a lukewarm Iowa State team and turned them into a dangerous, motivated squad.

Bruce Arians has been quoted as saying he’d come out of retirement only for the Cleveland job. He’s got a knack for offense and would be an instant improvement from where the team is now.

Josh McDaniels was supposed to be the Colts head coach before changing his mind. That doesn’t mean that he doesn’t regret it. It also doesn’t mean that he wouldn’t be a nice fit. Considering all the work he’s done with Tom Brady and Jimmy Garoppolo, Baker Mayfield would be a nice new project that could work out.

Personally, I love the idea of Lincoln Riley reuniting with Baker Mayfield. The only thing that stopped them from playing for a Championship in college was a defense. In Cleveland, they certainly got that. John Dorsey gets the final call, and since most, if not all, his decisions at this point have been good, it’s a safe bet he’ll make the right decision.
