The Cleveland Browns will head into Sunday’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals attempting to not lose their 26th straight game on the road.

The Cleveland Browns have broken a lot of streaks during the 2018 season after going 1-31 combined the previous two seasons.

When the Browns defeated the New York Jets, the Browns snapped a 19-game regular season losing streak. Then, the Browns Week 5 victory over the Baltimore Ravens was the Browns’ first win on a Sunday since Week 14 of the 2015 season.

On Sunday, they will attempt to break a 25-game losing streak on the road. Browns interim head coach Gregg Williams mentioned on Monday that he will likely use that as motivation for the team come Sunday.

The Browns last win on the road came against the Baltimore Ravens during Week 5 of the 2015 season. Josh McCown was the starting quarterback and threw for 457 yards to help lead the Browns to victory.

Not only will the Browns be looking to break their road losing streak against the Bengals, this game is vital for the Browns to stay in the playoff hunt.

The Bengals are just outside of the playoff hunt at 5-5,  with the Ravens holding the tiebreaker over Cincinnati for the last wild card spot. A Browns win would help close the gap between the two teams. The Browns also will play the Ravens one more time this season, giving them a chance to close the gap on them as well with a win on Sunday.

At 3-6-1, the Browns would likely need to win out or only lose one more game to make the playoffs. A loss on Sunday would eliminate almost any possibility of Cleveland sneaking into the postseason.

A Browns win on Sunday will also be much sweeter for the organization, as former head coach Hue Jackson is already a member of the Bengals coaching staff. In Jackson’s two and half seasons as the Browns head coach, he never won a game on the road.

Next. Hue Jackson is the gift that keeps on giving. dark

After the Browns performance during their Week 10 victory against the Atlanta Falcons, there is a lot of optimism that the Browns road losing streak will finally come to an end Sunday. And if the team wants to avoid the NFL record books on Sunday, it is a game they must win.
