Rushing Yards

"1. Phillip Lindsay: 591 rushing yards 2. Saquon Barkley: 586 rushing yards 3. Nick Chubb: 579 rushing yards 4. Kerryon Johnson: 554 rushing yards 5. Sony Michel: 453 rushing yards 6. Rashaad Penny: 254 rushing yards"

Lindsay, the undrafted free agent out of Colorado, has been killing it for Denver this season. He leads all rookie running backs with 591 yards, which just goes to show how running back talent can be found anywhere. Barkley is only five yards behind him and Chubb only seven yards being Barkley.

This stat goes to show how great these rookies have been all season as their numbers are beating out most veterans. Lindsay, Barkley, and Chubb are all within the top-10 list for most rushing yards in the NFL. Lindsay is eighth, Barkley ninth, and Chubb tied for tenth with Christian McCaffrey.

More from Dawg Pound Daily

Johnson isn’t too far behind the pack, and Michel has missed some games this year due to injury. Penny has been disappointing so far in this category, as he was the second drafted running back in the entire draft, ahead of everyone besides Barkley above him on the list.

Rushing Touchdowns

"1. Nick Chubb: 5 Rushing TDs 1. Saquon Barkley: 5 Rushing TDs 3. Sony Michel: 4 Rushing TDs 4. Phillip Lindsay: 3 Rushing TDs 5. Kerryon Johnson: 2 Rushing TDs 6. Rashaad Penny: 1 Rushing TD"

These running backs were drafted to do two things: run the ball and score touchdowns. It’s the nature of the position. The most valuable thing a running back can do for a team is score a touchdown in a crucial point of the game, whether that be on the goal line or breaking a huge run.

Chubb and Barkley have done just that for their teams so far with five rushing touchdowns a piece. Michel is right behind them with four, and he would probably be up there with five or more if he hadn’t missed three weeks due to injury. Penny again disappoints, with only one touchdown.

Chubb scored two of his five touchdowns in his history making game against the Raiders, when he had three rushes for 105 yards and those two touchdowns. Chubb also scored a 92-yard touchdown against the Falcons last week, setting the record for longest rush in franchise history. Needless to say he has been a scoring machine.
