Dud: The running game

This was something we didn’t see coming. Cleveland running back Nick Chubb was phenomenal in Week 10 before the bye week and even set a record for the longest run in Cleveland Browns history when he ran for 92 yards against the Falcons. He was set for another big day against a Cincinnati defense that gave up a ton of yardage in Week 11 to the Baltimore Ravens.

That didn’t end up happening though. Cincinnati was much more disciplined against the run this week and the Browns finished the game with just 2.4 yards per rush on 35 carries. Chubb himself finished with 84 yards on 28 carries but had a huge 27-yard gain at the end of the fourth quarter that padded that number just a bit.

Their inability to run had a lot to do with the Bengals getting back into this one as they scored a couple late touchdowns to make it look closer than it was. Had the Browns been better on the ground, they could have controlled the clock and ended the game quicker.

Chubb salvaged his game though as he was a stud in the receiving department. He finished with 44 yards on three receptions and added a beautiful touchdown grab over a Cincinnati defender.
