Cleveland Browns: Studs and duds from Week 13 loss to Houston
By Dan Justik
Stud: Jarvis Landry
Since Mayfield has taken over as the starting quarterback, Jarvis Landry has not been making the impact that his contract would expect him to make. But Landry had his best game that he has had in a long time on Sunday against the Texans.
Landry led the Browns in receiving on Sunday, catching six of his nine targets for 103 yards. Despite the Texans creating problems for Mayfield, Landry was able to find holes in the Texans defense, giving Mayfield opportunities to make plays over the Texans underneath coverage.
Landry was responsible for 45 of the Browns 46 passing yards in the first half, as he was the only receiver that put himself in good positions to make plays. He continued to play well in the second half, including making a ridiculous one-handed catch after Mayfield threw the pass behind him.
Landry seemed to be the only receiver that could find space in the Texans defense, and Mayfield took advantage of that.
This may be the exact game that Landry needed to build up more chemistry with Mayfield, as he seemed to be the receiver that Mayfied trusted when things were breaking down. Landry has great hands, and Mayfield took advantage of those hands on Sunday.
