Cleveland Browns: 2019 7-Round mock draft with a quarter season to go
By Randy Gurzi
Round 4: Joe Gaziano, DE, Northwestern
In the fourth round, the Browns finally get some depth at defensive end. This is a spot that’s a pretty significant strength with Myles Garrett and Emmanuel Ogbah manning the starting spots. They’ve also seen more snaps in recent weeks out of Anthony Zettel and Chris Smith. Cleveland even uses Genard Avery near the line as the fifth-round rookie has been a surprise as an edge rusher.

Still, they can use more depth here and Joe Gaziano out of Northwestern is worth a look. In three seasons of playing, the redshirt junior has 19.5 sacks and has NFL size at 6-foot-4 and 275-pounds.
Round 5 (via Jacksonville): Khalil Hodge, LB, Buffalo
The pick the Browns got in exchange for Carlos Hyde comes early here and they use that to snatch up Buffalo linebacker Khalil Hodge. Last season they hit a home run in the fifth with Genard Avery and they could strike gold again with a linebacker from a smaller school here. Hodge has 228 tackles in three seasons and has been able to get into the backfield at times, while also getting his hands on three interceptions in his career.
Round 5, Pick 2: Isaiah Prince, OT, Ohio State
With their own pick in the fifth round, the Browns again go for some depth on the offensive line with Isaiah Prince out of Ohio State. After already adding one tackle, this may seem like a wasted pick, but it’s not.
The Browns need to do all they can to protect their franchise quarterback. The tackles they have now aren’t cutting it and there’s too much planning that has to go into them being able to hold up. Adding talent to such an important position is never a bad idea and if they end up with new starters on both sides in a couple of seasons, that would be a win.
