The Cleveland Browns have had some great rookies during the 2018 season, which has us looking back at their top-5 rookie performances since 1999
The 2018 NFL Season has seen the Cleveland Browns win their share of rookie awards. Quarterback Baker Mayfield, cornerback Denzel Ward, and running back Nick Chubb have all won weekly awards for their great play — which gives fans plenty of hope for the future.
It’s not crazy to think that looking back on this season, we could be discussing three of the best rookie seasons all-time in Cleveland Browns history. That also brings up a great question about which players have been major hits during their first year with the Browns.
Of course, with their long history, there are plenty of players to choose from. We all know how important this team is to the NFL as they even came back after a few years away from the league. When the original Browns moved to Baltimore and became the Ravens, their history stayed behind — as did their name. In 1999, they came back to us and while their winning ways have not returned, their amazing — and supportive ‚— fan base has.
With the history staying with them, we could look way back to the 1940s for the best rookies in their storied history. However, we will focus mainly on the second edition of the Browns.
