The Cleveland Browns have something of a storied history at the running back position. So who lays claim the greatest rushing performances put on for the Dawg Pound since the team’s resurrection in 1999?

Jim Brown, Marion Motley, Greg Pruitt, and Earnest Byner. These are just four members of the Cleveland Browns‘ historic talents at running back. Since the original Browns’ inception in 1942, the franchise has had amazing talent at the position. The Browns have been built on a staunch rushing attack for decades, and have tried to recapture that many times since 1999.

But, Browns haven’t really had anything to cheer for on the offensive side of the ball since the team came back to the NFL. Despite being back in the league for nearly two decades, the Browns haven’t been able to conjure up a powerful rushing attack until recently, with the arrival of rookie Nick Chubb.

But, that doesn’t count out flukes. The Browns have, almost inexplicably, had amazing games in all facets out of nowhere. For example, a 36-year old Josh McCown threw for 457 yards and two touchdowns against the Baltimore Ravens in 2015. Gary Barnidge had an incredible year in 2015, racking up over 1,000 yards as a tight end.

This goes for rushing, as well. Even when the Browns were consistently the worst team in the league, they were able to show off every once in a blue moon, reminding the rest of the NFL they existed through weird games like these. So, who can claim the top five spots? These are the top five single-game rushing performances for the Browns since 1999.
