Draft a Day 2 Cornerback

After making some re-signings and addressing the defensive tackle position in free agency, the Browns can start addressing other areas of concern. In 2018, they added a great cornerback in the draft when they selected Denzel Ward at No. 4 overall. The Ohio State cornerback has proven to be a star and will only get better in time.

In free agency, they also did well by adding Terrance Mitchell, who had just completed his best season with the Kansas City Chiefs. They also added T.J. Carrie, formerly of the Oakland Raiders, who has had mixed results. Overall, the cornerback depth chart is solid but can use some talent.

There’s no need to go for a corner on Day 1 on the 2019 NFL Draft, but a Day 2 pick would be wise. Whether that happens to be a second, or third round pick has to do with what selection they make in the first round as well as who is on the board. Players to look at include Blace Brown from Troy, Julian Love out of Notre Dame, and Bryce Hall from Virginia.

My personal favorite of the Day 2 options is Brown, a lesser-known prospect but has immense potential. The 6-foot, 185-pound corner has 111 tackles and 12 picks. He’s a converted wide receiver, so his hands are great for the position and he could be a solid third corner for the Browns.
