Josh Lambo, K

Greg Joseph didn’t have too bad of a season this year. He obviously wasn’t perfect, missing some crucial kicks. Josh Lambo being on this list is more of a testament to Josh Lambo’s skill than a detriment to Greg Joseph’s leg. Lambo has been one of the best young kickers in the NFL.

At age 28, he still has multiple years left in the league. In 2 years with the Jaguars, Lambo is 38-of-41 (92.7 percent) kicking field goals, and is 6-of-7 (85.7 percent) from 50-plus with a career long of 57. He is also 41-of-44 (93.2 percent) on point after attempts.

In a league where it seems like everyone needs a kicker, Lambo will be a hot commodity this offseason. Lambo will be an unrestricted free agent, and probably has the most leverage of any unrestricted free agent on the market. Every contending team that needs a kicker and their mother will be calling Lambo’s agent.

The Browns themselves could be Lambo’s case for getting however much money that he wants. Cleveland could have been a 10 win team and in the playoffs if they had a kicker of his talent all season.

He had a rough start to the beginning of his career in San Diego. Since then, he got his swagger back in Jacksonville. He might not want to change locations, but a good amount of money could change his decision. Kickers aren’t nearly as expensive as other positions yet, but could soon be seeing a pay raise.

Stephen Gostkowski is currently making the most money per year out of the kickers in the NFL. He is earning $4.5 million a year. The Browns could easily give Josh Lambo a long term contract, front loading the deal. Paying Lambo $3-$4 million a year for the first two years then trimming it down afterwards.

Next. Two players to let walk, cut, and re-sign in 2019. dark

For those of you who hope to see a new kicker on the Browns next season, Josh Lambo should be your guy. I would love to see Lambo in a Browns jersey, but I also believe Greg Joseph could have a great future with the Browns if the city embraces him.
