With the Cleveland Browns on the verge of competing for the AFC playoffs, a couple of free agent additions could push them into the 2019 playoffs.

The Cleveland Browns finished the 2018 regular season with plenty of momentum, ending the second half of the season with a 5-3 record.

With Baker Mayfield at quarterback and a young but talented defense, the Browns seem prepared to compete for the playoffs in 2019.

However, the Browns have weaknesses throughout their roster that teams were able to expose during the regular season. Although these needs are not as dire as they were just a few seasons ago, the Browns will need to address these weaknesses if they want to become a more competitive team.

The Browns will once again be one of the teams with the most cap space entering free agency. According to Spotrac, the Browns will enter the 2019 off-season with roughly $75 million in cap space. That is the fourth-most cap space in the league, trailing only the Indianapolis Colts, New York Jets, and Buffalo Bills.

They have the cap space available to add a top-tier free agent or two, while still being able to re-sign most of, if not all, of their free agents.

It is important for the Browns to not overspend in free agency, however. Cleveland has plenty of their own talent that will be expensive to keep in the next few seasons. So in order to make sure they have the money to re-sign those players, they must be careful with the contracts they give out this off-season.

Cleveland Browns general manager John Dorsey said that he plans on building his team through the draft, so he may not be very aggressive in free agency.

With that said, here are players set to be free agents in 2019 that will be able to fill the Browns biggest positional needs.
