13. Cody Kessler

Cody Kessler was a head-scratcher when he was drafted in the third round in 2016, and remains a head-scratcher today. We were told by Hue Jackson “Trust Me,” when he was taken and we can clearly see how that worked out as both Hue Jackson and Cody Kessler are no longer with the Browns organization less than three years later.

Kessler started eight games as a rookie due to the injuries to both RGIII and Josh McCown and appeared in relief in one game in 2017. He finished 0-8 in his starts, but displayed a good deal of accuracy in his starts, completing 64 percent of his passes. However, Kessler lacks the arms strength to make him a starting caliber quarterback in the NFL. During his time with the Browns, he threw only six touchdowns in nine games and three interceptions.

He is now currently a member of the Jacksonville Jaguars and was granted four starts after the benching of Blake Bortles.

12. Charlie Frye

The Ohio native from Willard, Ohio and the University of Akron, Charlie Frye was selected in the third round of the 2005 draft. He started 18 games over his first two seasons in the league before being benched for Derek Anderson one half into his third season in 2007; he was then traded before game two in 2007 to the Seattle Seahawks. He finished his time in Cleveland with an overall record of 6-13 as the starting quarterback; he completed 62 percent of his passes with 14 touchdowns and 23 interceptions.

Frye ended his career in 2009 after one year in Oakland; he joined the Ashland University coaching staff in 2018 as their wide receivers coach.
