The Daily Dawg Tags brings you all the Cleveland Browns news that you need to know, including the Browns head coach search committee being revealed.

Ever since the Cleveland Browns hired John Dorsey as the team’s general manager, it was a question of what the organizational structure looked like.

The Browns kept most of the analytics department from the previous regime, but it was uncertain how much Dorsey relied on that group.

With the Browns searching for their next head coach, there were also questions about how involved owner Jimmy Haslam was going to be in the search.

More from Browns News

There are a lot of moving parts in the Browns front office and having every part of the front office work together was a concern. So far, it appears that Dorsey and Haslam have a good system worked out.

In today’s featured article, a report about the Browns interview with Indianapolis Colts defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus potentially revealed who is a part of Cleveland’s search committee.

REPORT: Browns search committee identified – P.J. Ziegler, FOX 8 Cleveland

"According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Browns search committee includes owner Jimmy Haslam, Executive Vice President JW Johnson, General Manager John Dorsey, assistant General Manager Eliot Wolf, Chief Strategy Officer Paul DePodesta, and Vice President, Player Personnel Andrew Berry. The Browns have been tight-lipped on the committee—saying only that it involved members of the Cleveland Browns organization."

The Browns head coach committee is certainly an interesting group. It is not a surprise that Haslam is a part of the interviews, along with Dorsey’s assistant general manager, Eliot Wolf. However, seeing that J.W. Johnson, Haslam’s son-in-law, is a part of the committee is interesting, as he has very little experience in a NFL front office. And it appears that the Browns are still heavily relying on analytics with DePodesta and Berry being a part of the committee.

Cleveland Browns Coaching Search: Brian Flores made a Super Bowl winning move

The Cleveland Browns interviewed New England Patriots linebackers coach Brian Flores for the head coach position over the weekend. Randy Gurzi mentions that Flores once made a Super Bowl winning move for the Patriots in recent years.

Browns coaching search: Track record of interim coaches shades John Dorsey’s view of Gregg Williams – Steve Doerschuk, Akron Beacon Journal

"Why don’t the Browns just stay with what they have? Considering what has become of interim head coaching situations in recent years, John Dorsey is taking the approach that the question isn’t quite that simple."

Gregg Williams has reportedly little chance to become the Browns full-time head coach, which is surprising to some due to his success in his eight games as head coach. However, as noted in the article, interim coaches have rarely had success when given the full-time gig.
