The Cleveland Browns season may be done, but there’s still plenty of work to do. Here we dig into the players they could look to at at defensive tackle via the upcoming 2019 NFL Draft

In 2018, the Cleveland Browns defense showed serious improvement — more so than it has in a long time. With rookie and veteran stars on all three levels, it’s understandable why 2019 should be even better.

Even so, there’s still a glaring weakness on the defense that everyone knows will be addressed as a priority: defensive tackle.

Larry Ogunjobi has been spectacular this season, playing like a Pro Bowl level player, but next to him has been a revolving door. Players like Trevon Coley, Brian Price, and Carl Davis all got a shot. None of which have been as effective as Ogunjobi or really anyone else on the defensive line.

Teams recognized this and when running the ball, would target that hole, or in pass protection would make the other tackle spot the least priority. Despite solid seasons from Emmanuel Ogbah, Larry Ogunjobi, Chris Smith in the rotation — and a Pro Bowl season from Myles Garrett — the Browns finished near the bottom of the league in both passing and rushing yards per game.

Every draft, there’s a position that is the deepest and most talented. Luckily enough for Cleveland, this year is all along the defensive line. With the right pick, any one of these players would be a welcomed addition to what could potentially be the best defensive line in the NFL.
