With the Cleveland Browns continuing to find talented pieces across the roster, they will have an opportunity to take over the AFC North in 2019.

The Cleveland Browns are poised to take over the AFC North division this upcoming season. Cleveland has found their quarterback and running back of the future and the defense is still meshing, but showed improvement.

Look at what Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield accomplished this past season with no name receivers, a rookie running back, and a defense still trying to find itself. Wide receiver Jarvis Landry was a main weapon this last season for Mayfield, Nick Chubb ran his tail off, and the defense has plenty of bright spots.

Compared to the other teams in the AFC North the Browns had the best momentum the second half of the season. The Browns didn’t make the playoffs, but they certainly have the best offense moving forward and are only a couple of pieces away from having a top ten defense in the league.

Right now, the Browns defense is third-best in the AFC North. The Browns need to improve all around defensively. Adding a cornerback and a defensive tackle would strengthen this team instantly.

At defensive tackle, during free agency, the Browns should target Grady Jarrett and Ndamukong Suh. These two are absolutely guys Cleveland needs to talk to. According to Pro Football Focus, both players finished in the top-12 among interior defensive linemen against the run. If the Browns sign Jarrett or Suh, the defense instantly improves after allowing the fifth-most rushing yards this last year. Jarrett would be the better signing here, but grabbing a veteran like Suh would not hurt the team.

For the cornerback position. Bryce Callahan, Kareem Jackson, Pierre Desir, Steven Nelson, and Ronald Darby are the players that need to be targeted by the Browns. All five of these players graded in the top-40 overall cornerbacks in total defense, according to Pro Football Focus. Browns cornerback Denzel Ward was graded by Pro Football Focus as the 15th best cornerback in the NFL last season. The next best graded Browns starting cornerback was T.J. Carrie, as he was graded as the 58th best cornerback.

The Browns need help defensively. These players named are all looking to get paid and signed. Guess what? The Browns have money and have a team on the rise which will draw in these players looking to win into the playoffs. If this team signs Jarrett and Callahan long-term, the Browns will be a team to be feared around the league.

Next. Three reasons to believe 2019 is the Browns year. dark

If you all enjoyed watching the Browns this past season, imagine what would happen if they signed two players who ranked in the top-ten in their respective position, and their both under the age of thirty.
