3. Rock Ya-Sin, CB, Temple

On the South team, there’s a corner from Temple worth watching. Rock Ya-Sin is a big-bodied cornerback who excelled for Temple as a press corner. He was often asked to play man coverage and did a great job in that department. As a senior, he was credited with 47 total tackles (two for a loss) and two interceptions. He also had a knack for breaking up passes, as he knocked 12 away in his final season.

Why he should appeal to the Browns is his ability to line up one-on-one on the outside. Listed at 6-foot-2 and 190-pounds, Ya-Sin won’t have problems with length whatsoever.

This doesn’t mean he’s an early pick projection. Most scouts have him pegged as a mid-round guy, which could be perfect for a team like Cleveland. They already have a few options at cornerback with Denzel Ward, Terrance Mitchell, and T.J. Carrie. All three played extensive snaps in 2018 and can be counted on to do the same in 2019.

However, there was some need for depth. Both Mitchell and Ward missed time due to injuries last season and the Browns were using players like E.J Gaines and Phillip Gaines often as well. Someone like Ya-Sin makes a lot of sense as a developmental player who could play in a pinch as a rookie should there be an injury. The Senior Bowl could be a great chance for him to get teams like the Browns interested.
