The Cleveland Browns were one of the most trendy teams to bet on to make the playoffs at the beginning of last season.
Those bets obviously did not pay off since the Browns finished just a few games shy of making the playoffs by the end of the 2018 season.
But the Browns showed massive improvement during the second half of the season, especially quarterback Baker Mayfield.

Browns odds to win Super Bowl LIV improve drastically – Daryl Ruiter, 92.3 The Fan
"Bovada.lv gives the Browns 30/1 odds along with the Falcons and Ravens, which ranks 13th to win Super Bowl LIV. The Rams are the favorites at 7/1, the Chargers are 7.5/1, with the Chiefs and Patriots at 8/1 according to the sportsbook."
Although the run the Browns went on at the end of the season was exciting, it is quite surprising to see how much the Browns odds have improved. But with one more off-season to add talent, the Las Vegas sports books must feel confident that Cleveland can put everything together in 2019.

Talkin’ Cleveland Browns: Now is the time to spend wisely – Terry Pluto, Cleveland.com
"I expect the Browns to make some free agent moves – and some trades. But as General Manager John Dorsey told 92.3 FM, ” “You just can’t go spend like a drunken sailor. To me, you just can’t do that.” Dorsey has stressed having salary cap room. It gives the front office the option of moving quickly if a high-priced player suddenly becomes available in a trade or is cut by another team."
When Cleveland Browns fans see how much cap space the Browns will have in the 2019 off-season, most of them want general manager John Dorsey to sign multiple top free agents. Instead, with how much the team will have to spend on re-signing their own talent over the next few seasons, being cautious in who they sign in free agency this off-season would be the best approach for Dorsey.
NFL writers did the Browns and Baker Mayfield a favor
Mayfield not winning the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year award outraged many Browns fans. But with the way that Mayfield holds grudges, him losing the award could pay off in the long run for the Browns organization and the fan base.
