The Cleveland Browns can use depth at wide receiver, but can probably wait until later in the draft to add someone. With that in mind, here are 3 potential gems to be found in Day 3

Heading into the 2019 offseason, there have been calls for the Cleveland Browns to land another wideout, which makes sense. Now that Baker Mayfield is entrenched as the starting quarterback, it would be good to get him a legitimate No. 1 threat that can grow alongside him as a pro. This has led to some speculation about a wideout with the No. 17 overall pick for the Browns, but that doesn’t need to be the case.

While it’s true Cleveland would do well to find themselves more offensive firepower, they don’t need to make a splash play necessarily. That’s because they managed to throw for a total of 4,261 yards last season with the corps of pass catchers they have at their disposal now.

2018 acquisition Jarvis Landry led the way with 81 receptions for 976 yards and tight end David Njoku followed with 639 yards off 56 receptions. From there, the Browns had a trio of contributors put up respectable numbers in Duke Johnson, Rashard Higgins, and Antonio Callaway. What this tells us, is that Mayfield had no problem spreading the ball around as he got every player involved.

With that being said, Cleveland would do well to add a talented player, but they don’t have to do so early in the draft. Instead, they can focus some of their other needs early — such as defensive tackle, linebacker, and offensive tackle — and land a wideout who may need some time to grow into their role. Here we identify three such players, who the Browns could use a day three pick on.
