On Sunday a national media outlet, yet again, took their shot at the city of Cleveland and the diehard Cleveland Browns fans. Here is one person’s reaction

At 3:30 EST today, FOX Sports: NFL tweeted a list of the five worst cities for NFL fans, and coming in fourth: Our beloved city of Cleveland; this writer thinks that is a load of shenanigans. The other four cities on the list are Houston, Jacksonville, Nashville, and Tampa Bay.

Yet, FanSided put together The Fandom 250 list, which calculated, “The ultimate ranking of fandoms – from sports to entertainment, celebrities to brands,” and coming in at number one on that list was Cleveland Browns fans. Where did FOX get these statistics? What are their sources? The tweet is just a stock photo with no further information.

From Art Modell moving the team to Baltimore and the Ravens winning a Super Bowl shortly after, to getting the Browns back, to “bottlegate,” to a 1-31 tyranny under Hue Jackson, the fans of Cleveland have been through too much. Yet week after week, the diehard Browns fans come back to the team without fail.

This seems like the latest version of a national media outlet taking any last parting shots at the Browns and their fans before this young team, led by Baker Mayfield, take the league by storm and continue towards becoming America’s team. The fans of Cleveland and our beloved Browns do not deserve this amount of disrespect, and we are tired of being the butt of the joke and will not stand for it any longer.

If FOX Sports: NFL wants to explain themselves to ultimate fans of the Cleveland Browns, our ears are open, but for now, we scoff and turn our heads the other way.

While the bigwig sports outlets keep attempting to prolong the decades-long prodding at the Browns and their fans, the city of Cleveland stand behind Mayfield and new head coach Freddie Kitchens and look forward to continuing to prove everyone wrong.
