Free agency starts on March 13 and the Cleveland Browns should be active considering their cap space. However, they shouldn’t target just the big names that will be out there.

On March 13, the new season technically begins which means NFL franchises will be allowed to go out and sign players in free agency. With an estimated $79 million to spend (according to OverTheCap.com), the Cleveland Browns could be huge players when the time comes to start dishing out contracts.

And unlike in the past, the big-name free agents will be listening. That’s because the Browns are building something special in The Land. Their 5-3 run in the second half of the 2018 season is reason enough to be excited about what they’re doing, but that record isn’t the only thing that can attract free agents.

Cleveland is beginning to look like a destination thanks to the way quarterback Baker Mayfield is starting to become a legitimate star in the NFL. The No. 1 pick from 2018 broke the record for most touchdown passes by a rookie and then went on to appear on late night talk shows, NFL on FOX playoff pregames, and Kevin Hart YouTube specials.

With all that being said, the Browns could very well land some of the big fish in free agency. However, in order to build a competitive roster, they will need more than the top-tier players to be successful. The Browns have a lot of areas on their roster where depth is needed and they could fill some of those roles with players who aren’t getting as much hype.

Here, we look at three such players as we identify players no one is talking about who the Browns could target in free agency.
