1. Jason Myers, K, New York Jets

Just one season ago, hardly anyone knew who Jason Myers was. After playing collegiately at Marist in New York, Myers had to take jobs in the Arena League. After playing for the San Jose SaberCats and Arizona Rattlers, Myers got his chance with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2015.

He played there for three seasons and made 81 percent of his kicks, but was just 11-of-15 in 2017 and was cut after missing three kicks in Week 6. He then lost a kicking battle to veteran Sebastion Janikowski with the Seattle Seahawks and was again looking for a home.

The New York Jets gave him a shot and they were rewarded with one of the best kicking seasons in the league. Myers connected on 91.7 percent of his field goal tries (33-of-36) and was 30-of-33 on extra points. He was named to the Pro Bowl for his work and now enters free agency as a kicker in demand — even if he isn’t getting much attention among those of us who discuss free agency.

Once he does become available, the Browns need to be one of the teams calling about his services. Currently, Cleveland has Greg Joseph under contract and he did better than some chose to believe but that shouldn’t stop the Browns from seeing how much it would cost to land a Pro Bowl player such as Myers.
