Round 6, Pick 17: Tyree Jackson, QB, Buffalo

It feels great to head into a draft and not discuss what the Cleveland Browns need to do at quarterback. Baker Mayfield is their guy and he proved he belongs during his fantastic rookie season. However, the Browns could still add someone late in the draft to serve as a backup. That’s where Tyree Jackson from Buffalo comes in. He’s a big project but showed off a strong arm and could be used as a developmental prospect behind Mayfield.

Round 7, Pick 17: Cole Tracy, K, LSU

Cole Tracy was great last season as he knocked in 29-of-33 kicks for LSU. He should get drafted and the Browns could use some competition at the spot. Greg Joseph settled in nicely for them in 2018, but shouldn’t just be handed the job going forward. Competition is always a good thing.

Round 7, Pick 22: Carl Granderson, DE, Wyoming

With their final pick in this 2019 NFL Mock Draft, the Browns grab Carl Granderson out of Wyoming. After a breakout season in 2017 in which Granderson had 78 tackles and 8.5 sacks, he took a step back as a senior.

In his final year with the Cowboys, Granderson had just 40 tackles and three sacks. He’s still an interesting prospect that could become a rotational edge rusher — and is well worth taking a flyer on this late.
